titleOfInvention Novel trisazo compound and its preparation
abstract NEW MATERIAL:The trisazo compound of formulaI. n USE: Useful as a charge-developing pigment for the charge-developing layer for a laminated photo-sensitive material which is a form of photosensitive materials used in electrophotography. It has high sensitivity and extremely rapid response to the light having a wavelength of ≤800nm. Other advantages of the compound are light-weight, low-cost, etc. n PROCESS: The compound of formulaIcan be prepared by diazotizing 4,4',4"-triaminotriphenylamine of formula II, and reacting the resultant heaxazonium salt of formula III (X is anionic functional group) with 2-hydroxy-3-(4-ethylphenylcarbamoyl)benzo[a]-carbazole. The diazotizing reaction is carried out in a dilute inorganic acid such as dilute hydrochloric acid by adding an aqueous solution of sodium nitrite at -10W+10°C. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1982,JPO&Japio
