abstract | PURPOSE: To prepare a high-quality meal product having reduced residual oil content, by the low-temperature treatment comprising the boiling in warm water under stirring. n CONSTITUTION: The raw material 1 such as bones, etc. is crushed with a crusher 2 and charged into the stirring and boiling tank 3. The tank 3 is charged with warm water of about 60W80°C from the water boiler 4, and the raw material is boiled for 1W2hr under stirring. The content of the tank 3 is transferred to the horizontal centrifugal separator 7, and separated into the solid 5 and the boiled liquid 6. The solid 5 is dried in the pressurized drier 8 under the pressure of 2W5kg/cm 2 , and classified with the sieve or pulverized with the pulverizer 9 to obtain the powdery bone meal product 10. The liquid 6 is boiled in a coagulation vessel 11, and separated into the solid 13, the oils and fats 14, and water by the centrifugal separator 12.
