abstract PURPOSE: To increse the process capacity and improve the workability of the titled apparatus, by bonding or closely attaching an overflow pipe to each of a pair of oppositely placed inner walls of the apparatus. n CONSTITUTION: Uranyl nitrate or plutonium nitrate is denitrated continuously to uranium trioxide or plutonium dioxide by thermal decomposition using a flat plate fluidized layer 3 furnished with spray nozzles 4, and the produced uranium trioxide or plutonium dioxide is discharged through the overflow pipe 6a. The overflow pipe 6a is bonded or closely attached to each of a pair of oppositely placed inner walls 16 and 16 of the apparatus. In the above construction, the overflow pipe 6a plays the role of reinforcing rib to increase the strength of the apparatus, and accordingly, the width of the fluidized layer can be widened and the process capacity can be increased. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1982,JPO&Japio
