titleOfInvention Ion-selective electrode
abstract PURPOSE:To provide a detection electrode stable for a long time while eleiminating variations in individual electrodes, by interposing at least a material with a better ionic and electronic conductivity between an ion-responsive film and a potential detecting lead wire. CONSTITUTION:Valinomycin is dissolved in dioctyl sebacate, homogeneously mixed in a tetrahydrofuran solution of polyvinyl chloride and the tetrahydrofuran is evaporated to obtain an ion-responsive film 4. This film is a potassium ion- responsive film. Silver is used as a potential detecting lead wire 8 and cadmium amalgam as a material 11 with an ionic and/or electronic conductivity. A potassium ion electrode thus arranged is almost free from variations in the answer potential characteristics.
