PURPOSE: To prepare the titled copolymer having improved moldability and impact resistance without lowering the ecxcellent electrical properties, mechanical properties and thermal stability of the original resin, by reacting a polyphenylene ether with an aliphatic dialcohol through an aromatic dicarboxylic acid. n CONSTITUTION: The objective block copolymer of formula (R 1 is H, halogen, hydrocarbon group, halohydrocarbon group, or hydrocarbon-oxy group; R 2 is 5W20C alkylene or polyalkylene ether having a molecular weight of ≤2,000; m is integer of 0W4; n is integer of 1W100; x and y are integers of 50W250) is obtained by the polycondensation reaction of (A) a polyphenylenen ether[e.g. poly(2,6-dimethyl-1,4-phenylene) ether]with (B) an aliphatic dialcohol (e.g. polytetramethylene glycol) and (C) an aromatic dicarboxylic acid compound (e.g. terephthaloyl dichloride). n COPYRIGHT: (C)1982,JPO&Japio |
