abstract | PURPOSE: A food for shaking off the sleepiness, prepared by making powder or fragments of leaf of green tea purified for drinking use in a small amount respectively into granules or flakes convenient for portable use, safe without side effects, and particularly effective for accidents due to a doze. n CONSTITUTION: A food prepared by making powder fragments of green tea purified for drinking use in a small amount respectively into granules or flakes of such a size as to be kept in a mouth. For example, wheat fluor, dogtooth violet starch, arrowroot starch, gelatin or thick malt syrup as a binder is used to bind the tea powder, etc. into small granules or powdered green tea is enclosed in a sugar coating or capsule to give a food of such a size as to be kept in a mouth. The constituent of the green tea is extracted with a saliva to give a very concentrated extract, which is swallowed to produce the remarkable shaking off effect on the sleepiness within 2 or 3min.
