PURPOSE: A mutant in Brevibacterium or Corynebacterium, resisting ketomalonic acid, fluoromalonic acid or monofluoroacetic acid and being capable of producing the titled substance, is cultured to collect the titled substance efficiently. n CONSTITUTION: The parent strain of, e.g., Brevibacterium flavum ATCC14067, Corynebacterium acetoacidphilum ATCC13870, is subjected to mutation treatment to separate a mutant of AJ11595 or AJ11598 respectively. The resultant mutant is resistant to ketomalonic, fluoromalonic or monofluoroacetic acid and can grow in a solid medium containing the same. The microorganism is cultured in a usual enriched medium containing carbon sources and nitrogen sources and L-arginine is collected from the fermentation mixture by a known method such as the ion-exchange resin method. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1982,JPO&Japio |
