abstract PURPOSE: To obtain the titled polyester having improved heat resistance, by the interfacial polycondensation of a solution of terephthaloyl dichloride, etc. in an organic solvent with an alkaline aqueous solution containing a mixture of a bisphenol with phenolphthalein. n CONSTITUTION: The interfacial polycondensation of (A) a solution of terephthaloyl dichloride and isophthaloyl dichloride in an organic solvent with (B) an alkaline aqueous solution containing a mixture of (i) a bisphenol, preferably bisphenol A, of formulaI(Z is O, sulfonyl, etc.; R 17 WR 24 are H or hydrocarbon) with (ii) phenolphthalein is carried out to give the aimed polyester, consisting of structural units of formula II (X is Z; R 1 WR 8 are H, halogen, etc.), formula III, formula IV (Y is Z; R 9 WR 16 are R 1 ) and formula V at a molar ratio between units (II+IV) and units (III+V) of (10:90)W(95:5) and a molar ratio between units (II+III) and units (IV+V) of (50:50)W(95:5), and having a reduced viscosity of 0.1W4dl/g at 30°C in an equiweight mixture solution of phenol with tetrachloroehane. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1982,JPO&Japio
