abstract | PURPOSE: To obtain the titled compound in high yield and purity without taking out an intermediate product, by halogenating and oxidizing any 2,5-dialkoxycarbonyl-1,4-cyclohexanedione in a nonpolar inert organic solvent continuously. n CONSTITUTION: A 2, 5-dialkoxycarbonyl-1, 4-cyclohexanedione, e.g. 2, 5-diethoxycarbonyl-1,4-cyclohexanedione, of formulaI (R is 1W12C alkyl) is continuously halogenated and oxidized with a halogen, e.g. bromine, in a nonpolar inert organic solvent, e.g. dichloromethane, chloroform or carbon tetrachloride, to give the aimed compound of formula II (X is halogen) without taking out the 1, 4- hydroquinone derivative formed as an intermediate. n EFFECT: Easily preparable in a short time. n USE: Organic oxidizing agents, intermediates for various important compounds, etc. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1982,JPO&Japio |
