PURPOSE: To provide a polyester compsn. having a higher rate of crystallization, by adding an epoxyalkane to a polyester. n CONSTITUTION: A 12C or higher epoxyalkane is added in 0.1W1pt.wt. to 100pts.wt. polyester. When the epoxyalkane content is less than 0.1Wpt.wt., no satisfactory effect is obtainable and when it exceeds 10pts.wt., then mechanical properties and heat resistance of the compsn. are lowered. Although the addition of the epoxyalkane increases the crystallization rate considerably, it is preferable to add a crystallization accelerator which includes silicates such as talc, mica, clay or silica, salts of 15W400C higher fatty acids such as stearic acid, montanic acid, or a carboxylic acid obtained by addition of a lower fatty acid (e.g. propionic acid) to 10W30C α-olefin, etc., and sodium or potassium salt of olefin/(meth)acrylic acid copolymer. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1982,JPO&Japio |
