abstract PURPOSE: A composition having a low viscosity, sufficient retention of blistering resistance and suitable for use in resin transfer molding, containing as a raw material the titled resin consisting of a mixture of mono- and bisdicyclopentadiene esters of specified formulas and a specified polyalcohol. n CONSTITUTION: A composition consisting of an unsaturated polyesterIprepared by reacting an acid component A consisting of 50W85mol% and 15W50mol%, respectively, mono- and bisdicyclopentadiene esters of formulasIand II, wherein Z is a 2W3Cα,β-unsaturated hydrocarbyl group, with a polyalcohol component containing an oligoester having an aromatic nucleus in the skeleton and an alcoholic hydroxyl group at a terminal and at least one alkylene oxide adduct of a dihydric phenol compound and a liquid polymerizable unsaturated monomer II, wherein 50pts.wt. ≤I<60pts.wt. and 40pts.wt.<II≤50pts.wt. Component A is obtained by, for example, reacting a compound of formula III with an α,β- unsaturated dibasic acid or its anhydride.
