titleOfInvention Manufacture of adhesive tape
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain an adhesive tape having an impact strength high enough to withstand to be encountered during use, by a method in which an unstretched polyethylene terephthalate film is subjected to a biaxial stretching process at a specific drawing ratio and then coated with an adhesive. n CONSTITUTION: In stretching an unstretched polyethylene terephthalate in vertical and lateral directions, the film is subjected to a simultaneous or consecutive biaxial stretching process at a vertical drawing ratio of 3.2W3.75, a lateral drawing ratio of 3.0W3.6, and a whole area drawing ratio of 13.0 or less and at a temperature at which the refractive index in the thickness direction of the biaxially stretched polyethylene teraphthalate film is 1.491 or more. Then, an adhesive is coated on the surface of the biaxially stretched polyethylene terephthalate film. The polyethylene terephthalate used contains a copolymer having a repeating unit whose 85mol% or more is ethylene terephthalate unit and the balance of an acid or glycol component other than terephthalic acid or ethylene glycol. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1982,JPO&Japio
