titleOfInvention Photographic elements
abstract PURPOSE:To obtain photographic elements improved in alkali diffusibility and temperature dependency, by providing a silver halide emulsion layer and a temporary barrier layer containing a specified lactone polymer on a support. CONSTITUTION:Photographic elements are prepared by forming silver halide emulsion layers and a temporary barrier layer on a support, and this barrier layer consists of a lactone polymer having repeating units represented by the general formulaI(in which R is H, alkyl, or aralkyl; R<1>, R<2>, R<3> are H or methyl; n<1> is 1-5; n<2> is 1 or 2; A is a copolymerizable conjugated diene monomer unit; and C is a copolymerizable ethylenicunsaturated acid or acid salt unit) or a mixture of this lactone polymer and a terpolymer represented by the general formula II in which x is 50-99.5wt%; y is 0.5-44.5wt%; and z is 0-49.5wt%.
