titleOfInvention Preparation of porous polyimide film
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain a porous film for separating a fluid having high reproducibility and permeability, by forming a film from a dope prepared by dissolving a specific aromatic polyimide in a mixture solution of a solvent capable of dissolving the polymer and a solvent incapable of dissolving the polymer, drying the formed film under heating. n CONSTITUTION: (A) An aromatic polyimide, having repeating units expressed by the formula (R is residue after removing the amino group from an aromatic diamine), preferably having a logarithmic viscosity number of 0.5W4 measured by using a solution thereof in a concentration of 0.5g/100ml solvent at 30°C is dissolved uniformly in a mixture solution of (i) 100pts.wt. phenolic compound solvent, e.g. a halogenated phenol, capable of dissolving the polyimide (A) in a concentration ≥5wt%, and having a melting point ≤80°C and a boiling point ≤280°C, with (ii) 5W150pts.wt. aromatic solvent, e.g. phenanthrene, incapable of dissolving the polyimide (A) in a concentration ≥3wt%, and having a lower evaporation rate than the solvent (i) to give a concentration of about 3W30wt%, and the resultant dope is formed into a thin film, which is then dried at about 50W400°C to remove the respective solvents slowly and give the aimed film. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1982,JPO&Japio
