titleOfInvention Production of indole derivative
abstract PURPOSE: The reaction between a specific isocyano compound and a specific lithium amide gives the titled derivative used as a synthetic intermediate of β- receptor blocking agent, remedy for arrhythmia and arterial diseases, simply and economically. n CONSTITUTION: For example, a nitrotoluene derivative of formulaI(Z is 5- methyl-3-alkyloxazolidin-2-one residue) is reduced to an amine of formula II and the amine is converted into an isocyano compound of formula III (R is alkyl) such as 5-(2-methyl-3-isocyanophenyl)-oxymethyl-3-isopropyloxazolidin-2-one. The isocyano compound is made to react with lithium amide of formula IV (R 1 is alkyl, aralkyl, aryl) such as Li-diisopropylamide to give the objective compound of formula V such as 5-(4-indolyloxymethyl)-3-isopropyloxazolidin-2-one. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1982,JPO&Japio
