titleOfInvention Production of adsorbent
abstract PURPOSE: To produce an adsorbent which efficiently adsorbs an albumin-bondable substance, by suspension-polymerizing a polymer containing a large number of hydroxyl groups and amino group (and/or imino groups) in the molecule in the presence of an organic carboxylic acid to effect crosslinking of the polymer. n CONSTITUTION: A uniform aqueous solution of a polymer containing a large number of hydroxyl groups and amino groups (and/or imino groups) is formed by adding, a polyamine compound (e.g., formulaIor II) and a polyepoxy compound (e.g., glycerol diglycidyl ether) to water at a ratio of about 0.8W2eq. epoxy gruops/eq. amino groups. Then, this aqueous polymer solution is dispersed in a water-immiscible organic medium (e.g., hexane) containing a dispersion stabilizer (e.g., alkylcellulose) and an organic carboxylic acid (caproic acid) and reacted at about 30W100°C to form a crosslinked polymer, particle diameter about 0.1W2mm. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1982,JPO&Japio
