titleOfInvention Age resistor for rubber
abstract PURPOSE:The titled age resistor having excellent resistance to heat, ozone, flex cracking, etc., prepared by blending N-phenyl-N'-alkyl-p-phenylene-diamine with 2-mercapto(methyl)benzimidazole. CONSTITUTION:The titled age resistor is obtained by blending 20-70pts.wt. N-phenyl-N'-(3-6C)alkyl-p-phenylenediamine (e.g. N-phenyl-N'-isopropyl-p-phenylenediamine) and 80-30pts.wt. 2-mercapto(methyl)benzimidazole. It is added to natural and synthetic rubbers in about 0.1-7pts.wt. per 100pts.wt. rubber.
