abstract | NEW MATERIAL:N-( 4-Chloro-2-fluoro-5-isopropoxyphenyl )-3, 4, 5, 6-tetrahydrophthalimide. n USE: A heribicde. Having strong herbicidal action on slightly controllable weeds such as a morning glory, cassia tora L., abutilon avicennae gaertn, sunflower, sorghum halepense L. pers., etc. especially by soil treatment and foliar treatment of a plowed field, having low phytotoxicity to important crops, especially maize, having high selectivity, exhibiting excellent herbicidal activity. Exhibiting effect also on slightly controllable arrow head, nut grass in a paddy field, having no phytotoxicity to rice plant. n PROCESS: 5-Isopropoxy-4-chloro-2-fluoroaniline is reacted with 3,4,5,6-tetrahydrophthalic acid anhydride in an inert organic solvent such as benzene, toluene, xylene, etc. under heating, to give the titled compound. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1982,JPO&Japio |
