titleOfInvention Production of anticoagulant regenerated cellulose
abstract PURPOSE: Heparin is made to act on a reaction product between regenerated cellulose, glycidyl acrylate or methacrylate and other vinyl monomers to produce the titled cellulose of high anticogulant property, used for hemodialysis, because it can reacts under mild conditions. n CONSTITUTION: The reaction between (A) formed regenerated cellulose or its derivative such as cuprammonium rayon, (B) 1×10 -6 W1.2×10 -2 pts.wt. per 1pt of water, of glycidyl acrylate or methacrylate and (C) 0.5×10 -6 pts. of vinyl monomers other than component a such as N-vinylpyrrolidone is conducted in the presence of a polymerization initiator such as ceric ammonium nitrate in an aqueous solvent at the freezing point to 60°C. After washed with water, the product is dipped in a heparin aqueous solution and stood at room temperature to 80°C in a closed system to give the objective cellulose. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1982,JPO&Japio
