titleOfInvention Production of polyvinyl chloride sheet containing metallic pigment
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain a PVC sheet which is clear and excellent in metallic luster and is difficulty stripped of metallic pigment, by adding to PVC a metallic pigment coated with a polymer prepared by reacting a compound having a polymerizable double bond and an epoxy group and molding the mixture. n CONSTITUTION: To a polyvinyl chloride resin is added a metallic pigment surface- coated with a polymer prepared by reacting a compound containing a polymerizable double bond and an epoxy group. The mixture is stirred and molten, and the melt is molded into sheets. As the polyvinyl chloride resins which are used, there can be mentioned at a homopolymer of vinyl chloride, a co- or terpolymer of vinyl chloride and a graft copolymer of vinyl chloride. As the compounds having a polymerizable double bond and an epoxy group, there can be mentioned epoxidized polybutadiene, glycidyl acrylate and divinylbenzene monooxide. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1982,JPO&Japio
