titleOfInvention Surface modification of polyester molding
abstract PURPOSE: To improve the paint adhesion of a thermoplastic polyester moldings, by coating the surface of a thermoplastic polyester molding with a polyfunctional isocyanate compound. n CONSTITUTION: The surface of a thermoplastic polyester molding is coated with a polyfunctional isocyanate compound. As the thermoplastic polyester, there can be preferably used polyalkylene terephthalate, polyalkylene 2,6-naphthalenedicarboxylate or polyalkylene 4,4'-diphenylenedicarboxylate. If necessary, a variety of fillers can be added to the above thermoplastic polyester. Addition of such fillers is preferred because the fillers give a polyester molding improved modulus and strength, increased dimensional stability at high temperatures, making it possible to carry out baking of an alkyd resin paint at high temperatures. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1982,JPO&Japio
