titleOfInvention Polyester copolyer
abstract PURPOSE: The titled copolymer having a low molding shrinkage and providing amorphous, flexible moldings, prepared from an acid component comprising terephthalic acid and a glycol component comprising 2-methyl-1,3-propanediol and tetramethylenediol. n CONSTITUTION: The titled copolymer prepared by reacting an acid component comprising terephthalic acid with a glycol component comprising 1W99mol% 2-methyl-1,3-propanediol and 99W1mol% tetramethylenediol. Components A and B both can react readily with terephthalic acid in any desired proportion, forming the titled copolymer containing a poly(2-methyl-1,3-propylene terephthalate) component. Component A is a glycol having an unsymmetrical chemical structure, and accordingly the polymer containing component A has an irregular structure, shows a decreased crystallinity and accordingly excells in molding shrinkage and flexibility. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1982,JPO&Japio
