titleOfInvention | Preparation of n-substituted isoquinolinium salt |
abstract | PURPOSE: To prepare the titled compound by reacting a tar base mixture containing isoquinoline, quinoline, 2-methylquinoline, etc. with urea, separating 2- methylquinoline as urea adduct, and separating only the titled compound from the residue with a quaternizing agent. n CONSTITUTION: A tar base mixture composed mainly of a fraction having a boiling point of 230W260°C, obtained by distilling a tar base prepared by the acid extraction of coal tar oil or liquefied coal oil, and containing isoquinoline, quinoline, 2-methylquinoline and other alkyl-substituted derivative, is mixed with urea, and 2-methylquinoline is separated as urea adduct. The residual isoquinoline base mixture is mixed with a quatenizing agent of formula R n X (R is organic residue; n is 1 or 2) and made to react at normal temperature W250°C, especially 100W200°C, and the produced N-substituted isoquinolinium salt is separated and purified. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1982,JPO&Japio |
