titleOfInvention | Novel tylosin derivative |
abstract | NEW MATERIAL:The compound of formulaI[R 1 is (lower alkyl-substituted) tetrahydrothiofuranyloxy or tetrahydrothiopyranyloxy; R 2 and R 3 are OH or alkanoyloxy; R 4 is H, OH or alkanoyloxy]. n EXAMPLE: 23-O-Tetrahydrothiofuranyl mycaminosyl tylonolide of formula II. n USE: Antibacterial agent. n PROCESS: For example, the compound of formula III (R' 3 is alkanoyloxy; R' 4 is H or alkanoyloxy) is made to reat with the compound of formula R 1 -CO-R (R is phenyl, diphenylacetyl or aralkyl) in an organic solvent such as methylene chloride in the presence of a mineral acid or an organic strong acid to afford the compound of formula IV having a tetrahydrothiofuranyloxy group or tetrahydrothiopyranyloxy group introduced to the 23-position. The compound can be converted to the compound of formula V (R' 4 is H or OH) by the dealkanoylation in an alcohol. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1982,JPO&Japio |
