PURPOSE: To provide the titled adhesive compsn. having a high initial bond strength and excellent resistance to water and heat, consisting of a polymer obtd. from an ethylenically unsaturated monomer, an epoxy compd. and a specified hardener. n CONSTITUTION: A polyamine hardener such as ethylene-diamine or a polysulfide hardener such as Thiokol LP-3 (a product of Thiokol Chemical Corp.) is added to a mixture or an aq. dispersion consisting of an emulsion (co)polymer obtd. from styrene or butyl acrylate and an epoxy compd. such as a condensate having an epoxy equivalent of 100W4,000 obtd. from epichlorohydrin and a phenol compd., just before the adhesive is used, to produce a water-based contact adhesive compsn. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1982,JPO&Japio |
