titleOfInvention Quantitative measuring method for benzoic acid derivative
abstract PURPOSE:To establish a quantitative measuring method of benzoic acid derivative excluding color instability and generation of turbidity of reaction liquid after color development, by using periodic acid or periodate as an oxidizing agent. CONSTITUTION:Each 0.01mM, 0.01mM, 0.05mM and 0.1mM of p-hydroxy benzoic acid, p-dimethylamino benzoic acid, p-diethylamino benzoic acid, m-hydroxy benzoic acid and o-hydroxy benzoic acid are used and these are added to 500mul solution containing 2mM 4-amino pyridine, 0.1M boric acid, 0.5M NaCl and then, 50mul blood serum is added. Thereafter, 500mul solution of 17mM sodium metaperiodate is added and the concentration of quinone imine coloring matter is found by measuring the absorbancy after standing two minutes at 37 deg.C as it is. It is known by this result that there is a constant relation between the quantity of a benzoic acid derivative and the concentration of the quinone imine coloring matter. Hereby, the quantity of the benzoic acid derivative in the solution is determined by measuring the quantity of the quinone imine coloring matter colorimetrically.
