titleOfInvention Cardiotonic agent
abstract PURPOSE: A cardiotonic agent, containing a specific 5-phenylthiazole derivative or a salt thereof as an active constituent, capable of remarkably increasing the atrial contractive force but with almost no remarkable or no effect on auriculoventricular rhythm. n CONSTITUTION: A caridotonic agent, containing a 5-phenylthiazole derivative of the formula (R is H, lower alkyl, OH, NH 2 or mercapto) or a salt thereof as an active consitutent, and applicable as an intravenous injection or oral agent. The compound of the formula is obtained by reacting phenylacetaldehyde with bromine, and reacting the resultant intermediate α-bromo-α-phenylacetaldehyde with a thioformamide, thioacetamide, etc. A compound of the formula (R is OH), i.e. 2-hydroxy-5-phenylthiazole, is a novel substance. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1982,JPO&Japio
