titleOfInvention | Solid preparation containing ubidecarenone |
abstract | PURPOSE: To prepare the titled solid preparation capable of keeping the homogeneity even at a temperature higher than the melting point of ubidecarenone, and effective to hypertension, ischemic cardiopathy, etc., by using ubidecarenone, gelatine and a saccharide other than sucrose, as essential components. n CONSTITUTION: A composition containing ubidecarenone of formula (chemical name: 2,3-dimethoxy-5-methyl-6-decaprenylbenzoquinone), gelatin, and a saccharide other than sucrose (e.g. glucose, fructose, etc.) as essential components. Since ubidecarenone is yellow or orange crystalline powder having a melting point of about 48°C, the storage of a ubidecarenon-containing solid preparation in an environment having large temperature fluctuation causes the localization of ubidecarenone and formation of colored spots, which are undesirable in view of the appearance and the absorptivity of the preparation. The localization of ubidecarenone in a solid preparation can be prevented even at ≥50°C by adding gelatine and saccharide other than sucrose, which are available at low costs. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1982,JPO&Japio |
