titleOfInvention Oil-resistant composition having excellent low- temperature characteristics
abstract PURPOSE: To provide a composition having excellent oil-resistance as well as low-temperature flexibility, and composed of a flexible vinyl chloride resin obtained by the graft copolymerization of a vinyl chloride resin with a specific alkyl acrylate or alkyl methacrylate in the presence of acrylonitrile, and a polymer plasticizer. n CONSTITUTION: The objective composition is obtained by compounding (A) a flexible vinyl chloride resin prepared by the graft copolymerization of (i) 100pts.wt. of a vinyl chloride resin with (ii) 35W900pts. of an alkyl acrylate and/or an alkyl methacrylate which gives a polymer having a second-order transition point of ≤-10°C, in the presence of (iii) 2W50pts. of acrylonitrile and (B) a polymer plasticizer having a molecular weight of ≥10,000, pref. the copolymer of ethylene, vinyl acetate, and carbon monoxide. When a polyfunctional monomer copolymerizable with the monomer copolymerized to the vinyl chloride resin is added in the graft copolymerization reaction together with the acrylonitrile, the oil resistance can be further improved by the crosslinks formed in the grafting component. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1982,JPO&Japio
