abstract PURPOSE:The titled composition, prepared by incorporating an inorganic compound containing a phosphoric ester with a polyolefin resin, having enhanced mechanical strength and capable of being flame retardant without degrading the moldability and surface characteristics of the polyolefin resin. CONSTITUTION:A polyolefin resin composition prepared by kneading (A) 100pts. wt. polyolefin resin with (B) 10-300pts.wt. powdery inorganic compound prepared by mixing 100pts.wt. an inorganic compound, e.g. calcium carbonate, with 1-50pts.wt. phosphoric ester consisting of a phosphoric ester expressed by formulaI[R is H or methyl; R1 is CH2CH2 or formula II or III; R2 is OH, formula IV or OR3; R3 is (R1O)mOR4 (R4 is 3-18C alkyl or 1-12C alkylphenol; n is an integer 1-50; m is 0 or an integer 1-50]and if necessary (C) various additives under heating at 130-300 deg.C. The use of aluminum hydroxide, etc. as the inorganic material further imparts the flame retardancy thereto.
