abstract PURPOSE:To obtain a positive dichromatic image with high sensitivity and contrast by a dry process by using a red color developing layer combined with a specified chelating layer and a black color developing layer combined with a basic substance producing layer. CONSTITUTION:A polyester film 1 is coated with a chelating layer 21 contg. a cobalt (III) ammine or amine complex (a), polynuclear quinone (b), a hydrogen donor (c) and a dioxime or diantipyrrylmethane chelating agent (d) which shows slight absorption in the visible region when coordinated to cobalt and causes red color development when coordinated to nickel and a red color developing layer 22 contg. a nickel salt. After laminating a barrier layer 3 on the layer 22, the layer 3 is coated with a base producing layer 41 contg. (a)-(d) and a dye (g) causing spectral sensitization at 500-700nm, an intermediate PVA layer 42 and a black color developing layer 43 contg. leucoaminotriarylmethane (h) which develops black color by oxidation, an acid (i) and hexaarylbiimidazole absorbing ultraviolet rays.
