abstract | PURPOSE: An insecticide, containing a dichloromaleimide derivative as an active constituent, having improved volatility at ordinary temperature, and exhibiting improved insecticidal effect on mosquitoes without using a heating means. n CONSTITUTION: An insecticide containing a dichloromaleimide derivative expressed by formulaI(R is 1W5C alkyl) as an active constituent. N-methyl-2,3- dichloromaleimide, N-ethyl-2,3-dichloromaleimide, etc. may be specifically cited as the compound expressed by formulaI, and the compound expressed by formulaIis obtained easily by reacting 2,3-dichloromaleic anhydride of formula II with an amine of the formula RNH 2 under heating.
