PURPOSE: A specific compound is added to polyester and they are melt spun into hollow fibers, then the fibers are subjected to leaching treatment to form fine pores coming through to the hollow part, thus producing fibers with high water adsorption and moisture adsorption. n CONSTITUTION: When (a) difunctional carboxylic acids mainly consisting of terephthalic acid or their ester-forming derivatives are made to react with (b) 2W6C alkylene glycols or their ester-forming derivatives and the resultant polymer is melt spun into hollow fibers, a phosphorus compound and/or a sulfonic acid of formula I and II [R is monofunctional organic group; X is -OH, -OR', -OM 4 (R' is monofunctional organic group; M 4 is metal) or monofunctional organic group; Y is H, ester-forming group; M 1 , M 2 , M 3 are metal; m=0, 1; n=1, 2] are added to the polymer in any stage until the melt spinning ends by 0.3W15mol% based on the component (a). Then, the fibers are treated with an aqueous alkali solution to leach out 2W50wt% of the hollow fibers. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1982,JPO&Japio |
