titleOfInvention Production of thermoplastic resin composition containing inorganic reinforcing material
abstract PURPOSE: To produce the titled composition capable of forming moldings isotropic in mechanical properties and excellent in surface appearance, by suspending an vinylaromatic monomer, a nonfibrous inorganic reinforcing material and an inorganic fiber in water and polymerizing the suspension. n CONSTITUTION: A suspension is prepared from 100pts.wt. vinylaromatic monomer (e.g., styrene) or its mixture with a copolymerizable monomer (e.g., acrylonitrile), 100W3,000pts.wt. water and 5W800pts.wt. inorganic reinforcing material consisting of 0.5W60wt% nonfibrous inorganic material, average diameter 1W 800μm, (e.g., alumina) and 99.5W40wt% inorganic fiber, length 1W15mm (e.g., glass fiber) and then this suspension is polymerized. n EFFECT: It is possible to obtain moldings isotropic in strength, shrinkage, etc., being bend-free and having excellent surface appearance. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1982,JPO&Japio
