abstract | PURPOSE: A high polymeric composition, obtained by incorporating an ethylene propylene (EP) rubber containing an organic flame retardant and a noncombustible polar inorganic powder with a polyfunctional compound and a specific organic compound, and exhibiting a very high flame retardancy. n CONSTITUTION: A high polymeric composition prepared by incorporating a composition containing (A) ethylene-propylene copolymeric rubber, (B) an organic flame retardant and (C) a noncombustible polar inorganic powder at a weight ration (A):(B):(C) of 100: (5W100):(10W300) with (D) a polyfunctional compound and (E) an organic compound expressed by the formula[Z is O or S; A is 2W 20C bifunctional hydrocarbon group which may have a substituent group and together with the two adjacent carbon atoms and B atoms may form a ring; B is O or imino group =NY- (Y is H, halogen or an organic group having 30 or less carbon atoms). The amounts of the components (B), (C), (D) and (E) are 0.05pt.wt. or more based on 100pts.wt. component (A).
