titleOfInvention Foamable polymeric particle composition and foam molded article made therefrom
abstract PURPOSE: The titled composition, prepared by incorporating foamable thermoplastic polymeric particles with a specific amount of butyl benzyl phthalate, and having a high foaming rate and a high maximal expansion ratio with a slight shrinkage and blocking content due to the excess foaming. n CONSTITUTION: A polymerizable monomer is polymerized by the suspension polymerization method, etc. to give (A) foamable thermoplastic polymeric particles containing 1W15wt% (un)saturated aliphatic hydrocarbon having a lower boiling point than the softening point of the polymeric particles, preferably polystyrene (copolymer). (B) 0.1W5pts.wt., based on 100pts.wt. component (A), butyl benzyl phthalate as a foaming assistant is injected into (A) the resultant polymeric particles to give the aimed composition. The formed composition is then preliminarily foamed, and molded under heating by the transfer molding method, etc. to afford the aimed foam molded article. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1982,JPO&Japio
