titleOfInvention Preparation of alkylsulfonic acid of steroid compound
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain the titled ester rapidly without using a large amount of an expensive pyridine, by reacting a steroid compound having a hydroxyl group with an alkylsulfonyl halide in the presence of a pyridine and a tertiary amine. n CONSTITUTION: (A) A steroid compound having a hydroxyl group, e.g. methyl 2,7-diacetyloxy-12-hydroxy-5β-cholanate, is reacted with (B) an alkylsulfonyl halide, e.g. methanesulfonyl chloride, in the presence of a pyridine and a tertiary amine, e.g. triethylamine, as a dehydrohalogenating agent, to give the aimed ester compound. The molar ratios of the respective components are preferably as follows; 1.1W3mol component (B) based on one mole OH group in the component (A) and 1W3mol pyridine and tertiary amine basd on one mole OH group in the component (A). n COPYRIGHT: (C)1982,JPO&Japio
