titleOfInvention | Isocyanate composition |
abstract | PURPOSE: To obtain the titled easily handleable composition capable of keeping liquid state for a long period even at low temperature, and useful for the manufacturing of polyurethane foam, etc., by reacting diphenylmethane diisocyanate with a specific amount of hydroxy compounds containing a monohydroxy compound. n CONSTITUTION: The objective isocyanate composition can be obtained by reacting 1 equivalent of diphenylmethane diisocyanate (MDI) with 0.1W0.5 equivalent of hydroxy compounds containing monohydroxy compound (e.g. prim- and sec- alcohols). The monohydroxy compound may be a single compound or a mixture, and the hydroxy compound other than monohydroxy compound is a branched or straight-chain compound having 2W8 OH groups at the terminal of and/or in the chain. The reaction of MDI with the hydroxy compound is carried out at ≤100°C for 1W3hr. When the amount of the hydroxy compound exceeds 0.5 equivalent, the viscosity of the composition becomes high, and consequently, the handleability becomes poor. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1982,JPO&Japio |
