titleOfInvention Purification of monoalkyltin trihalide
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain the titled compound from a mixture of tetraalkyltin, etc. and monoalkyltin trihalide, or from a mixed solution obtained by adding a hydrophobic organic solvent to the above mixture, by adding a mineral acid to the above mixture, etc., separating the aqueous phase, and adding a specific organic solvent to the aqueous phase, thereby extracting the titled compound from the aqueous phase to the organic phase. n CONSTITUTION: A mixture containing monoalkyltin trihalide and one or more compounds selected from tetraalkyltin, trialkyltin dihalide and tin tetrahalide, or mixed solution obtained by adding a hydrophobic organic solvent (e.g. hexane, cyclohexane, etc.) to the above mixture, is mixed with a dilute aqueous solution of mineral acid, and the aqueous phase is separated. The aqueous phase is mixed with a polar oganic solvent having lone pair of electrons (e.g. diethyl ether) or a mixture of the above solvent and a hydrocarbon solvent, and the monoalkyltin trihalide is extracted from the aqueous phase to the organic phase in high purity. n EFFECT: Simple operation, and high purity and recovery. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1982,JPO&Japio
