titleOfInvention Antibiotic alanylbactobolin and its preparation
abstract NEW MATERIAL:An antibiotic alanylbactobolin expressed by formula I and an acid addition salt thereof. n USE: An antibiotic capable of inhibiting the growth of Gram-positive and Gram- negative bacteria and a carcinostatic agent capable of inhibiting the growth of cancer cells, e.g. mouse leukemia L-1210 cell. n PROCESS: A microorganism capable of producing alanylbatobolin, e.g. BMG13-A7 strain, FERM-P No.5083, belonging to the genus Pseudomonas, is cultivated in a culture medium containing a nutrient source to produce the compound of formula I in the culture. The compound of formula I is then collected from the culture medium by using an adsorbent, etc. Alternatively, the alanylbactobolin of formula II is reacted with L-alanine of formula III, a protected substance at the amino group or a reactive derivative thereof to acylate the amino group of the compoud expressed by formula II and give the compound of formula I. The compound of formula II can be collected from the culture of the strain. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1981,JPO&Japio
