| abstract | PURPOSE: To produce a compsn. which is liquid at a low temperature and becomes solid at an elevated temperature and whose reaction between liquid and solid states is reversible, by a method wherein a compolymer of a conjugated diene with a maleic acid derivative, a base, a water-soluble Mg compd. and water are simultaneously added and mixed together to effect the reaction between the reactants. n CONSTITUTION: A conjugated diene-maleic acid derivative copolymer (A) having an intrinsic viscosity of 0.01W6.0 at 30°C (e.g. a butadiene-maleic anhydride copolymer), a base (B) (e.g. NaOH or methylamine) in an amount of equimole W 2- fold moles of the maleic acid derivative unit, a water-soluble Mg compd. (C) (e.g. MgCl or magnesium acetate) in an amount of 0.5W2.0-fold moles of the maleic acid derivative unit, and water (D) are simultaneously added and mixed together in an inert gas atmosphere to effect the reaction between the reactants. n EFFECT: The compsn. is liquid nearly up to 50°C, becomes a jellylike or rubber solid at above 60°C and the solid is converted into the original liquid by cooling. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1981,JPO&Japio |
