titleOfInvention Dehydrating method of gas containing unsaturated aldehyde
abstract PURPOSE:To obtain a dehydrated unsaturated aldehyde very readily, by the dehydration of a gas containing an unsaturated aldehyde through the separation of condensed water with the heat of vaporization of methanol without the polymerization loss of the unsaturated aldehyde. CONSTITUTION:In the dehydration of a gas containing an unsaturated aldehyde prepared by the catalytic oxidation in the vapor phase of a raw material comprising at least one of propylene, isobutylene and t-butanol, methanol in such an amount as to vaporize amlost wholly, is brought into countercurrent contact from above with the above-mentioned gas containing the unsaturated aldehyde, and the gas containing the unsaturated aldehyde in contact takes the heat of vaporization from the methanol, to separate the condensed water in the gas. The gas containing the unsaturated aldehyde prepared by the catalytic oxidation in the vapor phase is preferably cooled in advance. EFFECT:An unsaturated aldehyde may be dehydrated directly in the vapor phase.
