titleOfInvention Preparation of artificial aqueous humor
abstract PURPOSE: To prevent precipitation in an artificial aqueous humor, by adding bicarbonate ions and citrate ions to an artificial aqueous humor containing Ca and Mg ions. n CONSTITUTION: An artificial aqueous humor containing Ca and Mg ions is stabilized by adding bicarbonate ions and citrate ions thereto. The aqueous humor should contain glucose which is an essential material for the cells. The pH of the humor is adjusted to 6.5W7.5, pref. 7W7.5. The bicarbonate ion is essential in an intraocular perfusate. The addition of citrate ions prevents the precipitation during storage caused by the coexistence of Ca ions and Mg ions, suppresses the pH variation, and stabilizes the aqueous humor for a long period. n USE: An intraocular perfusate, a liquid for washing and storage of eyeballs, cornea, etc. for the ophthalmic operation. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1981,JPO&Japio
