| abstract | PURPOSE: To save energy consumption while maintaining the precision of the control of the average polymerization degree of the titled resin, and to improve its productivity, by depolymerizing a copolyester prepared under given conditions with an alcohol, etc. under specified conditions. n CONSTITUTION: A polymer with low polymerization degree having an average polymerization degree not more than 10 is subjected to polycondensation under reduced pressure at 200W300°C to give a copolyester having an intrinsic viscosity 0.3W 0.5, which is depolymerized in such a way that an average polymerization degree is controlled to a given value in a range of the average polymerization degree 10W40.
