titleOfInvention Granulating agent for water slurry of coal powder
abstract PURPOSE: To prepare a granulating agent capable of accelerating the granulation of aqueous slurry of coal powder in water remarkably, and facilitating the removal of ash and inorganic materials from the slurry, by the use of a specific mono- or di- alkyl sulfosuccinate salt as a main component. n CONSTITUTION: The objective granulating agent containing a mono- or di-alkyl sulfosuccinate salt of formula [R 1 and R 2 are H or 4W22C alkyl (ethylene oxide adduct); M is univalent or bivalent cation] as a main component. The compound can be prepared by converting a maleic acid anhydride (derivative) to mono- or di-ester with a 4W22C alcohol (ethylene oxide adduct), and sulfonating the product. Preferably, the alcohol is 8W22C alcohol (added with 1W20mol of ethylene oxide) when one of R 1 and R 2 is H, and is 3W6C alcohol when both R 1 and R 2 are not H. The granulation is usually carried out in the presence of an oil as a binder. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1981,JPO&Japio
