NEW MATERIAL:A benzamide derivative of formula (R is halogen, mono- or di- alkylamino, alkoxyalkoxy, alkenyloxy, etc.). n EXAMPLE: 4-Methylamino-N-(2,3-dichlorophenyl)-benzamide. n USE: A highly selective herbicide effective to true grass weeds such as cockspur-grass and broad-leaved grasses by the soil treatment in paddy field, nevertheless almost harmless to paddy-rice plant. n PROCESS: The compound of formula is prepared e.g. by reacting various benzochlorides or various benzoic acid esters with 2,3-dichloroaniline in the presence of a base in an organic solvent. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1981,JPO&Japio |
