abstract | PURPOSE: The titled compound capable of forming an improved flame-retardant film without lowering storage stability, obtained by adding a specific a bromine-substituted aromatic compound to a film-forming polymer comprising an acrylic polymer, having a wide range of pH. n CONSTITUTION: The desired composition consisting of (A) one or more water dispersed film-forming polymer selected from the group consisting of acrylic (co)polymer, butadiene-acrylic copolymer, styrene-acrylic copolymer, acrylonitrile (-butadiene-)-styrene copolymer, and vinyl acetate-acrylic copolymer, (B) an organic additive, e.g., plasticizer, and (C) a bromine-substituted aromatic compound as a flame-retardant. Decabromodiphenyl ether, hexabromodiphenyl ether, tribromophenol, hexabromobenzene, decabromodiphenyldibromoethane, and tetrabromoxylene may be cited as the ingredient C.
