abstract PURPOSE: To continuously produce uniform spherical carrier particles, by passing a mixture containing an organic solvent, a surfactant and a melt of a complex between a halogen-containing magnesium compound and an active hydrogen compound through a pipe under a specific condition, and rapidly cooling the resulting mixture. n CONSTITUTION: Titled carrier is produced by passing a mixture containing (A) 1pt.wt. of a melt of a complex between a halogen-containing magnesium compound such as magnesium chloride and an active hydrogen compound such as an alcohol, (B) about 2W20pts.wt. of an organic liquid medium such as a hydrocarbon, and (C) about 0.01W0.1pt.wt. of a surfactant, HLB≤about 6, such as polyoxypropylene glycol through a pipe having an inside dimeter (ID) of about 0.3W5mm and a length/ID ratio of about 100W7,000 at a velocity to provide a velocity/ID ratio of at least about 2,000/sec; rapidly cooling the mixture to below about 40°C within 1sec; and then separating the solid particles of the complex. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1981,JPO&Japio
