abstract NEW MATERIAL:1-(Substituted phenyl)-2,6-dimethyl-4-pyridone. n EXAMPLE: 1-(3,4-Dichlorophenyl)-2,6-dimethyl-4-pyridone. n USE: Pesticide for agriculture and industry: these compound are used as a fungicide for controlling diseases in vegetables, fruit trees and rice in agriculture and in industry used to control bacteriah and mildews and prevent the formation of varioua slimes and generation of algae by mixing with various kinds of paints, plastics, industrial water, cooling water, etc. n PREPARATION: A compound of formula II and dehydroacetic acid are heated under reflux in an organic solvent such as xylene or toluene, preferably in the presence of a small amount of an acid such as hydrochloric acid to give the compound of formula I. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1981,JPO&Japio
