abstract |
PURPOSE: To provide the titled compsn. suitable for use as a fuel hose and capable of resisting an alcohol-contg. gasoline, by a method wherein an alkoxyalkyl acrylate and acrylonitrile are polymerized in the presence of a polyester and then the resulting high-molecular weight compsn. is crosslinked. n CONSTITUTION: 60W95pts.wt. of an alkoxyalkyl acrylate (e.g. ethoxyethyl acrylate) and 40W5pts.wt. of acrylonitrile are polymerized in the presence of 5W 40pts.wt. of a polyester. Then the resulting high-molecular weight compsn. is crosslinked to obtain the titled rubbery compsn. Alternatively, a polymer resulting from the polymn. of 65W95pts.wt. of the alkoxyalkyl acrylate and 40W5pts.wt. of acrylonitrile is mixed with 5W40pts.wt. of the polyester.
